Personal Safety and Safe Choices
A Life Skills Workshop (Ages 10–18) 🛡️
Date: February 28
Time: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Location: High school in Whitby or Oshawa (TBD)
Cost: FREE
About the Workshop
This workshop is designed to help tweens and teens build awareness, confidence, and strong decision-making skills to stay safe in real-life situations.
With growing concerns about youth safety — and with Black teens being disproportionately affected by abduction and exploitation — this session focuses on prevention, empowerment, and practical tools, not fear.
Participants will learn how to:
Recognize unsafe or manipulative situations
Handle peer pressure and risky offers
Say NO and remove themselves from danger
Identify trusted adults and safe places for help
Think about how today’s choices affect their future
A guest speaker with experience in youth safety and prevention will join us to share real-world insights in an age-appropriate way.
